Narrow Win Over T1, DRX Advances to Pacific VCT 2023 Grand Final To Rematch Against PRX!
The Grand Final for the VCT 2023 Pacific League has been set, Paper Rex will face DRX.
This will be a rematch for these two teams because previously PRX had defeated DRX in the upper bracket finals match.
Actually, 3 teams for the Tokyo Masters have been found, PRX, DRX and T1 playing for higher seeding.
In the lower finals of the VCT 2023 Pacific League, with a narrow score of 3-2, DRX had to bleed against T1 to enter the grand finals.

There is not even 1 map that is not fierce
This DRX and T1 match shows that these two teams are the 2 best teams in Korea and also in Asia Pacific. In these playoffs maybe we have seen that the king of Asia, DRX can also be defeated and bloody.
For the first 3 maps, Ascent, Fracture and Haven, DRX vs T1 ended with a score of 13-11, they played all the rounds they could play before going into overtime. DRX is 2-1 up for the first 3 maps.
But T1 replied with their preferred map Bind with a big score of 13-6. Both teams must enter map 5, namely Pearl.
Even though DRX was already far ahead 10-4, and was almost overtaken by T1 with a score of 11-9, before DRX closed this match 13-9.
Coach DRX Termi also praised T1’s performance where they didn’t expect they could play up to 5 matches.
“Today was a really tough game, I didn’t expect it to go this far and T1 played really well. It was a chaotic and very difficult match. I’m glad we got through it.” said coach T1 Termi.
Additionally, DRX star Buzz also said he was happy to win against T1 but disappointed because of the many mistakes they made.
“I’m really happy we won against T1, I’m a little disappointed because the game should have been easier than it was played. I’m happy to play in the final and correct our mistakes against PRX.” he said.

For the last map, what’s interesting is that DRX is Pearl’s best team in the league and they have never lost once. SPIN Esports had asked coach T1 Autumn why the tires were split compared to Pearl for this match.
“I know they are very strong at Pearl, but I think the best map is Split. Because for 3 years their win rate on that map is high and their playstyle is good, so I really respect that. So that’s why we prefer Split tires.” said trainer T1 Autumn.
Autumn also said “I am very proud of my players and I am happy to see we can go up against a world class team like DRX. I want to thank my players.”
With this result, T1 will be the third seeding team for next month’s Tokyo Masters and may have a more difficult road ahead than the DRX and PRX teams.
