This Coach Says DRX termi & stax Do DRX Save Strat By Not Playing Zest From The Beginning!
Throughout the regular season of the VCT 2023 Pacific League, DRX’s path can be said to be running smoothly. They only lost 1 time in the regular season, namely against Team Secret.
Interestingly, at that time they fielded their ‘original’ player, Zest. Zest himself is a DRX player since the team was originally formed when they were still in Vision Strikers.
He also played when DRX got top 4 in VCT LOCK//IN and the first match of the 2023 Pacific VCT league.
But from then on, Zest was nowhere to be seen and her position was replaced by Foxy9. This punt was questioned by RRQ player, fl1pzjder earlier this season.
At that time, Fl1pzjder said, DRX was better with Zest than Foxy9 and they saved the strat by not playing Zest.
SPIN Esports asked IGL DRX stax and coach termi about this after they won against T1 in the lower finals.

DRX stax: We are naturally more comfortable playing with Zest
The decision of the term coach is sure to be asked not only from their opponents but also from the fans.
Even though DRX had built their chemistry with Foxy9 for 1 season, in the 2 most important matches of DRX, lower finals and grand finals, Zest was played.
Asking whether DRX is a save strat for the finals and also the Tokyo Masters, the termi straightens this out.
“There’s no way we can stick to strategy by not playing Zest. The only reason why Foxy9 is playing on stage is I really want to give him stage experience to develop him because he is our youngest pro.” explain terms.
Because Zest has been with this team for a long time, coach termi also believes and knows Zest will always be ready if needed.
“I always knew Zest would do well even though he only had 3 days of practice against T1,” close term.

One of the biggest reasons why Foxy9 is played throughout the season is that termi wants to provide experience for Foxy9 playing on VCT and offline.

Looks like termi is looking to the future and preparing Foxy9 for DRX next year and beyond.
