Why T1 VALORANT Died At VCT Masters Tokyo 2023, Could Be A Blessing According To Xeta & Autumn!

You could say it’s quite a shock T1 was sent home before they could get into the playoffs. T1 may be one of the favorite teams to go far in the VCT Masters Tokyo 2023.

But they had to fall in the group stage after being defeated by the Chinese team, EDward Gaming (EDG), straight 0-2. EDG is arguably having great momentum after the win against NAVI and T1 just lost to NRG.

With many players and coaches slightly questioning the busy schedule of VCT 2023, maybe this defeat can be a momentum and also a blessing for T1, who have already entered VCT Champions 2023.

Coach T1 Autumn felt Masters Tokyo gave them a lot of valuable experience. And when they fall they have the opportunity to review what they did wrong.

“Scrim against other teams here in Japan and also getting more of the LAN experience we needed, this is a great opportunity for us to check how much we have improved and what we need to focus on moving forward,” said the coach from South Korea.

Autumn also said they now know better what the team lacks and what they need to strengthen again for the 2023 Champions.

“I think everyone has a better idea about communication and meta and what to do with our map set to make it a little bit stronger,” continue Autumn.

He also concluded that now he has more ideas what they need to fix in international tournaments and is sure they can do better in the 2023 Champions.

“We will come back and work on it, and I really believe that T1 can do much better in the Champions.” close Autumn.

Playing on the same map in the opening match of group A, EDG and T1 played on the Fracture and Haven maps.

In Fracture, it can be seen that EDG was much better prepared against T1, winning 4-0 at the start before closing the first half with a score of 8-4. Even when they exchanged sides, T1 was merciless and EDG won 13-4.

On map 2 Haven, T1 looks even more unprepared. They only won 2 rounds in the first half, trailing 2-10. Even though they won 4 rounds in a row after switching sides, EDG was able to close the match with a score of 13-6.

With this result, T1 still has the final tournament, which is Champions 2023. They have approximately 2 months to correct their mistakes and shortcomings so that they can get the most out of VCT Champions 2023.
