In Season 9, MPL ID amassed over 2.8 million peak concurrent viewers which made it one of the most watched esports leagues. MPL ID has also contributed to various talent initiatives, created opportunities for fledgling esports organizations, and given back to the esports community through its CSR initiative, MOONTON Cares. In collaboration with Garudaku Academy, MOONTON Games has launched the ‘Fostering the Legends’ program to benefit schools in East Java. This program is set to empower hundreds of students from seven schools through various educational programs for students interested in entering the esports industry – not only as esports athletes, but as other options such as referees, casters, content creators or even influencers.

The growth trend of esports in Indonesia

MPL ID is one of the earliest esports leagues created to incubate growth in Indonesia, along with MDL ID serving as the launch pad for local amateur teams. This league has also helped put Indonesia on the international esports map through the M4 World Championship which scored a concurrent audience of 4.27 million, making it one of the most watched tournaments in the world. This global tournament is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
