ESI DKI Networks National Athletes Through the 2023 Jakarta Anniversary Esports Tournament with a total prize of IDR 200 million
The DKI Jakarta Province Indonesian Esports Management (ESI DKI) is holding the 2023 Jakarta Anniversary Esports Tournament with a total prize of IDR 200 million. Carrying the PUBG Mobile type of games, this Esports Tournament is held to capture potential esports athletes from DKI Jakarta who will be coached to become athletes at the provincial and international level.
The tournament, which was also held to celebrate Jakarta’s 496th anniversary, had the theme Esports Jakarta for the Archipelago which means that the achievements of Jakarta’s esports athletes are works dedicated to the pride of the archipelago.
“The 2023 Jakarta Anniversary Esports Tournament is part of ESI DKI’s commitment to support the birth of athletes who can be nurtured into esports athletes who can represent inter-provincial matches. Apart from that, this tournament is also a form of ESI DKI’s contribution to enliven Jakarta’s 496th birthday,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Indonesian Esports Province, Mr. Major General TNI Purwito Hadi Wardhono, SE, M.Hum.
Purwito also added that later on, those who are able to go through the coaching process as provincial athletes can also get the opportunity to be coached at the state level and represent Indonesia in world-class competitions.
Will Be an Annual Event
The Jakarta Anniversary 2023 Esports Tournament, which is planned to become an annual event, will target general participants with ages starting at 17 years old and each group has at least two members who are domiciled in the DKI Jakarta area. Registration for this tournament will start from June 26 to July 5, followed by the qualifying stage on July 6 – 11and the final stage on July 15.
The online qualification stages will be carried out per municipality region by the ESI municipalities of Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta and North Jakarta, as well as the Seribu Islands Regency.
The final round which will be held on July 15 will be conducted offline by the ESI DKI provincial administration at JIEXPO Kemayoran.
