The first reason is because Layla’s range is farther than Lesley, so of course it will be difficult to fight.
Moreover, Layla also has an Attack speed which tends to be faster than Lesley. But of course you need to keep your position because if you get hit by a shot it will really feel.
So, you have to excel at the distance so that you can give Lesley great damage.

It looks like there are no shoes because they have been sold because they entered the late game and already have Windtalker, where this item and the Blade of Desapir provide additional movement speed.
The first item you need after shoes is Berserker Fury so that the damage is high enough and can balance Lesley’s true damage.
After that, you can immediately make Windtalker for additional movement and critical chance.
Then you can immediately make Blade of Despair so that the damage will be felt even more when entering the 9th minute.
You can proceed to Scarlet Phantom, then Malefic Roar to break through your opponent’s defense because you have entered the late game.
Lastly, you can change shoes to DHS so that the damage to Tank heroes gets even worse.
