10 Things You Need to Do First in Hogwarts Legacy
1. Open & Buy Broom ASAP
While you’re free to explore the world of Hogwarts Legacy as soon as you get the chance to leave the castle, it’s best to mainstream the story until you get a chance to buy your own broom.
Not only does this help you if you are dealing with strong enemies.
All available brooms will cost 600 Gold.
2. Open Floo Flames Location For Quick and Easy Travel
Exploring Hogwarts and admiring its magical interiors is a big part of the fun, but going up and down the Grand Staircase to get from room to room can get tiring quickly.
Approaching a Floo Flame point on the map unlocks that area and its fast travel, which can be done by opening the map and selecting a place to teleport to.
Given the title’s worldwide scope, it is in the player’s best interest to unlock as many places as convenient as possible.
3. Attend Your First Few Classes
Attend your first few classes to complete them and some of the initial main missions will unlock basic spells, side quests and valuable items that will help you explore Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and Highlands in greater detail.

Players will find most of the spells in the Hogwarts Legacy repository as they complete the main quest. But some are given to the protagonist as Tasks.
The more spells you learn will definitely help your adventure. And you can also get stronger to fight difficult enemies.

Different spells require a secondary attack to make them worthwhile. For example, Incendio can only be performed at close range, so combining it with Accio to draw enemies closer will make the execution easier.
You can practice learning some spell combos by talking to Lucan Brattleby in the Floo Flame Clock Tower Courtyard.
6. Collection of Field Guide Pages to Get Initial XP
The most common main collectible item in Hogwarts Legacy is the Field Guide Pages. Many of these pages are scattered around the world, and the protagonist must track them down.
The first few can be found with Revelio. After opening a spell like Accio, Levioso, and Reparo, you can search for more.
Field Guide Pages give players +80 XP.
7. Sell Unwanted Equipment To Earn Coins
As players advance in the story and explore the title, new and more powerful gear is sure to fall into their laps.
This makes older equipment obsolete. Fortunately, they can be sold in shops around the world in exchange for coins.
Given that players will struggle at the start when it comes to coins, this is a good way to ensure their pockets don’t run dry.
8. Make Sure To Expand Item Slots
You will start the game with an annoyingly small number of slots in your inventory. Completing these trials increases your inventory size; otherwise you will have to destroy or sell some items to make room for new ones.
You can complete Merlin’s Trial for Merlin in Lower Hogsfield. You must complete two tries to get your first gear bonus slot.
These generally consist of environmental puzzles, such as moving around objects or casting certain spells. However, to take on such a challenge, players will have to wait until they find the Trials of Merlin mission.

9. Interact With Everyone
The beauty of magic castles is that almost everything is filled with enchantments and spells, which means there’s a good chance you’ll uncover secrets, collectibles, and equipment just by interacting with the random items you see while exploring.
For example, interact with the owl statue in the east corridor to reveal a hidden room with a treasure chest; or the book inside the Tomb and Scrolls in Hogsmeade to reveal a hidden staircase.
10. Change your appearance after the initial customization
Madam Snelling’s Tress Emporium in Hogsmeade can give you more than a few new cuts. You can even change the complexion and color of your eyes in the shop.
Note that it costs coins per session so be sure to have those.
