The National Esports Team is Ready to Win the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023 Gold
Towards the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023, the Indonesian Esports Council (PB ESI) confirmed its readiness to achieve optimal results at the largest multi-sport event in the Southeast Asia Region. At the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023, Indonesia will participate in six competition events, namely Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang (MLBB) Men, MLBB Women, PUBG Mobile Team, PUBG Mobile Individual, Crossfire and Valorant.
Along with this confirmation, PB ESI explained its strategic programs designed to optimize preparation, as well as conveyed the names of athletes, coaches, and National Team Managers whose mission was to spread the Red and White flag through the sport of Esports which at the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023 is one of the sports that Indonesia relies on to win a gold medal.

Making esports as one of the foundations to gain gold is motivated by the positive record of esports achievements on the global stage. Acquisition of 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze at the SEA Games Hanoi 2021, followed by the overall title in 14th The International Esports Federation (IESF) World Esports Championships Bali 2022 with the acquisition of 3 gold and 1 bronze, is the basis for the government – in this case the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) of the Republic of Indonesia – pinning hopes on esports as one of the main medal contributors in the SEA Games round this time.
“PB ESI received both the mandate and trust from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the public for esports, and we responded by making maximum and thorough preparations in order to achieve the highest achievement at the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023,” said Ashadi Ang, Head of Public Relations and Communication at PB ESI.
“We also express our greatest appreciation to all levels of athletes and coaches who are fully committed to joining Pelatnas activities, and also to all parties who also provide support, from parents, professional teams, schools and higher education institutions, various agencies, private parties who also provide support for technology facilities such as leading laptop and gadget providers Agres.id, Aruba Instant On, and Legion, as well as to the public who never stop encouraging Indonesian athletes,” he added.
Head of the National SEA Games Esports Team, Tjahjono Prasetyanto conveyed his vision of forming a competent and solid National Team and Supporters through Pelatnas activities in order to realize the country’s hopes for achieving esports achievements at the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023.
“Platnas’ activities in facing the SEA Games round this time have gone through a long, serious and full process of consideration in order to achieve maximum results. We encourage the Indonesian esports public to also provide positive input which of course can be a valuable lesson for the National Team Agency,” he said.
PB ESI has summoned 102 of the best national esports athletes to take part in the National Training Center (Pelatnas) process which began on 6 February 2023. From these names, 40 athlete members have been selected. roster who is considered to have the most appropriate technical ability, mentality, and level of teamwork to face the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023.
Head Coach of SEA Games Esports National Team Yohannes Paraloan Siagian mentioned that the preparation of the team went smoothly.
“Platnas activities do not only sharpen playing skills, but also include preparing for physical and mental endurance, learning strategies, and maintaining nutrition. We are optimistic that this thorough and thorough preparation is the key factor that can push Indonesia to achieve the highest score at the 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023.”
Mahatma Arfala Thohir National Team Manager reminded the younger generation of Indonesia to cultivate love for the motherland and the spirit of defending the country from an early age. Esports is considered to be one of the means for the younger generation to channel their potential for Indonesia.
“The 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023 is a start, and going forward we hope that more sons and daughters of this nation will also make Indonesia proud in the global esports scene through esports,” he concluded.
