Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Will Officially Release Mid 2023! Testing Has Started!
Valve announced that Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) will be released in Summer 2023, with limited testing available to some Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players starting today.
Players are selected for the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing.

Getting to try CS2 will depend on “a number of factors”, including current playing time and Steam account status. Players who have been selected will automatically get an invite via the CS:GO main menu.
CS2 is based on Valve’s Source 2 engine and includes updates to several of the game’s core mechanics, including improved smoke grenades and updates to sub-tick which Valve says will tell servers more quickly when moving and shooting.
The game will also have revamped maps, better visuals, UI improvements, reworked audio, and more.
CS2 will likely be a free upgrade to CS:GO, and all players’ CS:GO items will transfer over to the new iteration of Counter-Strike. It basically sounds like CS2 will replace CS:GO
For now, players will only be playing a limited test of Counter-Strike’s famed Dust II map in Deathmatch and the custom mode playing with friends only, though Valve says other modes and maps will arrive in future test releases.
For loyal CSGO players, there’s no need to be afraid because transferring your accounts and items to CS2 can be done. So those of you who have already spent a lot of money on cool skins, you don’t need to be afraid!
Currently, many players and streamers have tried this CS2. You can watch streams like Shroud and Tarik to see the new gameplay of one of the most hyped games right now!
