Better Against Foxy9 Or Zest In The DRX Lineup, This Says RRQ Xffero, PRX Benkai & Gen.G K1ng!

Better Against Foxy9 Or Zest In The DRX Lineup, This Says RRQ Xffero, PRX Benkai & Gen.G K1ng!

One of the players who is currently on the rise is Jung Jae-sung, also known as Foxy9.

The 18-year-old player has been in the spotlight ever since the VCT 2023 Pacific League started, as he has replaced one of DRX’s core players, Zest.

Zest was never benched by DRX throughout 2022 yesterday, and is one of the key players for DRX.

So this is something quite surprising because Foxy9 is now a core player of Asia’s best squad, DRX.

Seeing Foxy9’s performance which is getting more confident and also getting sharper, it seems difficult for DRX to replace it again with Zest.

SPIN Esports had asked several VCT Pacific players whether DRX with Foxy9 or Zest was more terrifying to fight against?

DRX With Foxy9 Or Zest?

The big match will take place in the upcoming week 5, which is between the 2 unbeaten teams so far, namely DRX vs Gen.G. SPIN Esports asked k1ng in the scrum interview who he thought was the more terrifying player in DRX.

“For Foxy9 vs Zest, with DRX playing with PRX, I think it was a very important match for DRX and they chose to include Foxy9 in the lineup. So I think DRX thinks that Foxy9 is a better choice for the team and I agree.” said Gen. G k1ng.

Benkai, IGL and the captain of Paper Rex, the team that just got beaten by DRX in week 4, said that actually DRX with Foxy9 was easier to fight than Zest.

“I find it a bit easier to play against Foxy9, we can take advantage of beating Foxy9 more easily. But I think with Zest everything is more methodical, like the utilities (skills) are where they need to be. His playing style is also different.” said Benkai in the scrum interview.

RRQ Xffero Foxy9 Zest

Benkai’s opinion was also agreed by RRQ’s captain, Xffero. He also felt that although DRX’s aim hurt more with Foxy9, it was more difficult against Zest because the strategy was more difficult to predict.

“Zest is more to the brain and Foxy9 is more to aim. So when it comes to DRX shooting now it hurts a lot more but with Zest, playing is smarter like that. The adaptation is difficult because they often change, it’s difficult for us to adapt. For Foxy9, it’s hard like fighting or fighting, 50% and above he wins. Prefer Foxy9.”

So indeed both players have their pluses and minuses, but it seems like players find it easier to fight players who have aim than players who have brains!

In the first 4 weeks, DRX has a perfect record of 4-0 and also 8-0 for its point map. So they haven’t lost a single map in 4 matches.

Foxy9 has always been the player with the most kills in the 4 matches he has played. Not bad for players who have just played in tournaments as high as VCT.

Especially against Global Esports, he got 51 kills, and is the only +/- positive player on the DRX team.

Coach Termi is also not sure whether Zest will see Foxy9’s performance again. But he said maybe we’ll see him in certain maps later.

“That is a very difficult question for me, right now Foxy9 is playing very well, I personally want to give him some experience here on stage. Will I be using Zest in the future? Completely dependent but honestly can’t answer that question for now. But hoping that we might get to see it too.” said coach Termi.
